THE BETTER HALF OF ROCK'N ROLL
I find these images to be very ZEN. Actually if you know about the Buddhist tradition of Bodhi (the tree of enlightment) I often sit in front of one of this images to meditate. What I really enjoy is the magnetic power they have to pull you in, to get you in touch with nature and the cosmic energy.
There is not art without love and love is indeed at the source of any art form, conceptual or realistic. So these images of woods represent to me a source of love and good energy, where the crudeness of the markings in the wood symbolize the reality, the commitment to life and honesty. As a contrast, the shapes are driven by sensuality and the eroticism of the unknown. The complexity of the two combined together makes this project very close to my heart.
